ABOUT ME

Zaira Gabriella Palumbo

A classically trained soprano with a passion for teaching and performing.

I received my formal training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Joan Rogers CBE and Anna Tilbrook, graduating with a BMus (Hons) and the Vocal Teaching LTCL qualification.

During my time at Trinity, I was very fortunate to sing in various venues across the country including the Old Royal Naval College - Greenwich, Clare College Chapel - Cambridge and St George's Hall – Blackburn. I have been asked to support the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in two outdoor concerts, to represent Trinity Laban at The Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Competition and was selected as a semi-finalist at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. I was also pleased to work under the direction of the distinguished choral conductor, Dominic Peckham in the Trinity Laban Chorus for four years. Soloist credits include - Pergolesi: Stabat Mater, Schubert: Mass in C, Purcell: Come ye sons of art, Haydn: The Seasons, Matthew Coleridge: Requiem, Mozart: Missa Brevis in Bb, Rutter: Mass of the Children.

This classical training, combined with my love for musical theatre, gave me the ability to secure leading roles such as Fantine: Les Misérables, Carlotta: The Phantom of the Opera, Grace Farrell: Annie and Angelina: Trial By Jury.

Since graduating, I have enjoyed performing primarily in my home county of Norfolk where I frequently organise concerts for charities including Nelson’s Journey and Norfolk Kidney Patients Association.

I am also delighted to offer my services as a professional singer for weddings and other private events. If you would like to find out more about hiring me for your wedding or any other event please click here.

I am very passionate about musical education and community engagement. I am an experienced teacher and able to instruct students of all ages, covering graded examinations with both ABRSM and LCM exam boards. I also teach musical theory necessary for moving through the higher levels of these exams. When I’m not busy teaching or performing myself, I act as musical director for the Broadland Youth Choir, Red Loft Theatre Company, The Garage Performance Academy and Mundesley Community Choir, while running youth group musical theatre classes with

Red Loft Theatre School and in local schools. Please click the names of the companies to find out more.
