ABOUT ME
Zaira Gabriella Palumbo
A classically trained soprano with a passion for teaching and performing.
Zaira received her formal training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Joan Rogers CBE and Anna Tilbrook, graduating with a BMus (Hons) and the Vocal Teaching LTCL qualification.
During her time at Trinity, she was very fortunate to sing in various venues across the country including the Old Royal Naval College - Greenwich, Clare College Chapel - Cambridge and St George's Hall – Blackburn. She was asked to support the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in two outdoor concerts, to represent Trinity Laban at The Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Competition and was selected as a semi-finalist at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Soloist credits include - Vivaldi: Gloria, Pergolesi: Stabat Mater, Schubert: Mass in C, Purcell: Come ye sons of art, Haydn: The Seasons, Matthew Coleridge: Requiem, Mozart: Missa Brevis in Bb, Rutter: Mass of the Children.
This classical training, combined with her love for musical theatre, has given Zaira the ability to secure leading roles such as Fantine: Les Misérables, Carlotta: The Phantom of the Opera, Grace Farrell: Annie and Angelina: Trial By Jury.

Zaira works as a freelance teacher and performer, primarily in her home county of Norfolk and frequently organises concerts for local charities, churches and organisations. Zaira has a very strong passion for musical education and community engagement and is an experienced teacher, instructing students of all ages, covering graded examinations with both ABRSM and LCM exam boards. She also teaches musical theory. Zaira is proud to act as musical director for the Red Loft Theatre Company, The Garage Performance Academy and Mundesley Community Choir, alongside running youth group musical theatre classes with Red Loft Theatre School and in local schools.
